Congratulations to Lockview High School In Fall River.The Lockview High School Senior Concert Band and Senior Jazz Band under the direction of Joe Cormier have recently completed a very successful Tour of Boston and New York City, which included the Heritage International Music Festivals in Boston as well as attending the musicals Phantom Of The Opera and Blue Man Show.Also included in the trip was Empire State Building,New York and Boston City Tours, the New England Aquarium, Hard Rock Cafe and Fire and Ice Restaurant.

Here are the Official Final Results of the Heritage International Music Festival, Boston, USA July 27 2008!
Jazz Band: First Place its class, with a silver rating and a mark of 87.
Senior Band: First place in its class, with a silver rating and a mark of 88.
Senior Band Maestro Award:Taylor Davis,Flute, for Outstanding Solo, Musical ability and Sensitivity.
Jazz Band Maestro Award:Annie Brown,vocal,for Outstanding Solo, Musical ability and Sensitivity.
Adjudicators Award:Joe Cormier,Director,Lockview High School Bands

THE FESTIVAL SPIRIT AWARD was awarded to LOCKVIEW HIGHSCHOOL for the school that best representes their school,community, state,province and country, and that in doing so, displayed wonderful co-operation,spirit and support for all Heritage Festival performances and Activities.

The two Day Event drew at least 1500 students from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Boston, California,, New York, and Virginia, as well as Nova Scotia.

Congratulations to the band program at Horton High School!  During the past Annapolis Valley Music Festival, five entries in the band portion of the festival yielded 4 gold awards and 1 silver award.  In addition, two of the band entries were awarded “Stars of the Festival” and represented Horton during the evening performance at the festival!

The Grade 9 Band was awarded a Gold Rating on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.  On Wednesday, April 30, 2008, the other 4 entries performed and the Grade 10 Band earned a Silver Award, while the Senior Concert Band, Jr. Jazz Band and Sr. Jazz Band all earned Gold Awards.  The Senior Concert Band and Sr. Jazz Bands represented Horton at the Stars of the Festival Program on Sunday, May 4, 2008.
